All-Pro cornerback practices for the first time since Week 4 Wes Hodkiewicz
GREEN BAY - Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander practiced for the first time on Wednesday since injuring his shoulder during Green Bay's 27-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 3.
In his pre-practice media availability, Head Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed the All-Pro cornerback's participation, noting Alexander would be largely limited to individual drills.
With Alexander returning to practice, the Packers now have a 21-day window to activate him back to the 53-man roster. The fourth-year cornerback has spent the past eight weeks on injured reserve after injuring his shoulder on a third-quarter tackle of Steelers running back Najee Harris in Green Bay's Week 4 matchup with Pittsburgh at Lambeau Field.
The Packers remain hopeful to get two more All-Pros, David Bakhtiari and Za'Darius Smith, back in the near future but neither was practicing on Wednesday.
"We'll take it day by day with all those guys and we'll see where we're at at the end of the week," LaFleur said. "Trust me, they want to get out there as bad as anybody."
Without Alexander, the Packers have received significant contributions from first-round pick Eric Stokes, veterans Kevin King and Chandon Sullivan, and Rasul Douglas, who was signed off Arizona's practice squad on Oct. 6 to replace Alexander on Green Bay's 53-man roster.
